Outstanding GCSE Results at HSFG

Congratulations go to all students at the High School for Girls for outstanding results in their GCSEs in all subjects.  43% of the results were at A* and 77.9% at A*-A.

This is the first year that students sat the new reformed GCSEs in English Language, English Literature and Mathematics.  In these qualifications 74.4% of grades were at grades 9 to 7 (equivalent to an A*-A) and 19.8% were at the new grade 9.  The percentage of A*s was the highest for a number of years.  41 students achieved at least 10 A*/A grades.
Fantastic results from all students who worked hard, but this would not be possible without the hard work and total dedication of the staff who give unstintingly of their time to the students.  The school has much to celebrate as it has also been recognised at the top performing school in Gloucestershire in The Real School’s Guide.
Congratulations to all High School Sixth Form students on their results.  A quarter of all grades achieved at A2 were A*/A and 83% of all qualifications were graded at least C or above.  Students have secured university places on their chosen courses.
As well as A Level grades 53% of students achieved A*-A grades in the Extended Project Qualification, a qualification valued by Higher Education and employers as it develops study and work related skills mirroing the dissertation process.
This success is the result of the hard work of students and staff.
The High School for Girls has been recognised as the top state school in Gloucestershire in The 2017 Real Schools Guide.

5 Star School achieves first place in Gloucestershire - time to celebrate!

The High School for Girls has been named as the top state funded school in Gloucestershire by The 2017 Real Schools Guide.
The guide uses dozens of different measures based on 4 categories: attainment, progress, attendance and outcomes.  These measures can give parents a better idea of which school helps their child develop academically, socially, emotionally and equip them for the modern world of work.
The school is delighted that it has been recognised in government tables as top of the class.

Our community believes in each individual member and their ability to achieve.  Our curriculum develops autonomy and resilience, enabling students to enjoy learning and become confident, lifelong learners able to thrive now and in the future.  Our timeless values encourage responsibility, generosity of heart and, above all, social conscience.
