Excellent results in music lead to a Gold ISM Award
The High School for Girls’ Music Department is celebrating being awarded the ISM’s (Incorporated Society of Musicians) Gold certificate in music in 2016.
This is a real demonstration of the excellent work we do at the High School. It has been awarded for the excellent results in GCSE music last year. More than 20% of the overall Key Stage 4 cohort at the High School achieved an A*-C in GCSE music, putting us in the top 87 schools across England. In fact, the High School for Girls’ specific ranking is 84.
The ISM is a subject association for music educators and looks after more than 7,500 members who work as classroom teachers, instrumental and vocal teachers, performers and composers.
Well done to all the staff and students for this outstanding achievement.
