Girls Get Set!

GIRLS GET SET – Sponsored by GE Aviation

On Thursday, 7th July several High School for Girls’ teams took part in the Girls Get Set Challenge, which was based on entering a robot into five events.

These were:

  • a sprint,
  • hurdles,
  • football,
  • hammer and
  • a relay.

The students were given the kit by GE Aviation and then had six months in which to build and programme the robot.  This involved lots of experimental work.  We are delighted that in the Year 12 challenge the High School Sixth Form teams came first and third, whilst in the Year 10 challenge we came second behind Cheltenham Ladies College.  The winning team included: Charlotte Norridge, Beth Edmondson, Vivienne Woodford and Nina Wolff-Ingham.  An excellent result from all the teams.  Well done!
