School Parliament

School Parliament is an innovative way to get involved within the school.  It is an opportunity for you to show and improve your leadership and teamwork skills and it is a perfect way for your Student Voice to be heard.

In School Parliament there are seven different ministries and you can apply to be a part of whichever one is suits you most: The Ministry of Charities, The Ministry of Arts and Co-curricular Activities, The Ministry of Sport, The Ministry of Environmental Issues, The Ministry of Premises Development, The Ministry of Learning, Teaching, and Wellbeing and The Sixth Form Ministry.

If there is something you feel strongly about, you can primarily raise it in your fortnightly meetings and then take it further to the Whole School Parliament at termly meetings.  The Headteacher is present at these meetings and good ideas are usually acted on.  If it is a feasible concept, students can apply to the PTA for grants and to discuss fundraising.  Being involved gives you a chance to see your ideas for the development and improvement of the school really come to life!  Get involved and make a movement!
